I accomplished many things during the Renaissance, But one thing I am most proud of is the fact that I have written a small pamphlet called The Prince. The reason i wrote it was because i wanted to gain enfluence with the ruling Medici family in Florence. The Prince is a different kind of text than other books about creating and controlling diferent principalitiesbecause it doesn't tell the reader what an ideal prince is

The Renaissance began in the 1300's to the 1600's. The term Renaissance means rebirth- in this case a rebirth of art and learning. It began in northern italy and later it spread north. One reason northern Europe lagged behind is that France and England were locked in the hundred years war. Italy also had three advantages that fostered the Renaissance thriving cities a wealthy merchant class and the classical heritage of greece and Rome. Michelangelo Buonarroti, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Florentine Masaccio were also great figures of the Renaissance. Michelangelo painted in four years the entire ceiling of the Vatican's Sistine Chapel. He considered himself first a sculptor. He also excelled as poet, engineer, and architect. He is considered the greatest sculptor of the Renaissance. One of his sculptures was David and he painted the Last Judgement. Da Vinci was proficient in engineering, mathematics, architecture, geology, botany, physiology, anatomy, sculpture, painting, music and poetry. He was always experimenting. He was a superb draftsman. Two of his famous paintings were the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. Florentine completed the revolution in technique begun by Giotto. He mastered the problems of perspective, the naturalism of flesh and bone, and the modeling of figures in light and shade. He was one of the first during the Renaissance to paint nude figures. Painted Expulsion from Eden. Theses three people were of Composers and Artists. I was among the most original thinkers of the Renaissance and also a brilliant and slightly tragic figure.

My name is Niccolo Machiavelli and I am an Italian author and Statesman. I am also one of the outstanding figures of the Renaissance. In 1498, I entered the political services of the forentine Republic and became more important. I was in a mercenary system that sprang from my conviction in 1506. My best work was the 11th principle which helped a prince getmore power. Also my name became a synonym for justification of power.

About Me

  • I was born on May 3, 1469 in the city-state of Florence, Italy. I was also born into a tumultuous era, in which Popes were leading armies and wealthy city-states of Italy were falling one after another into the hands of foreign powers -- France, Spain and the Holy Roman Empire.
